Dr. Shin-Ping Kung graduated from Nuclear Engineering from National Tsing Hua University in 1972 in Taiwan and completed his Ph.D. program in 1979 in Nuclear Engineering at Kansas State University in USA. Upon receiving an Alexander von Humboldt Scholarship, he had continued on for more research work in Germany at Karlsruhe University from 1981 before he came back to Taiwan in the end of 1982.
He then worked in research and development of industrial technology on the government side including the work at ITRI and the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan。 He started to work at Yue Loong Motor Company in 1986, the leading automobile manufacturing company in Taiwan, as V.P. and the superintendent of Sanyi Factory. In 1990 and the following years, he served in other private manufacturing industry, both small and large enterprise, as well as governmental sector such as the Chief Engineer of Taiwan High Speed Rail for five years, President of Transportation System at Siemens in Taiwan, and several top managerial positions at Coretronic Group before he reached his age of retirement in 2014.
Instead of retiring from working, he chose to continue his industrial career by establishing SeeMore Technology Inc. in 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan. In 2015, he formed a JV, ZRD Electric Vehicle Co. in Shandong Province of China, together with the Swiss company iEV and a Chinese investment firm, Shanghai Tai-Heng Investment, to develop a new way of designing and developing light weight electric vehicles using composite material aimed at conserving energy and protecting the environment. After two years, the first vehicle, a pure battery driven city cargo, designed and developed by the JV based on the newly introduced technology, has passed the regulatory tests in July, 2017 therefore has entered the National List of Recommended New Energy Vehicle in China.
