Hongfa Xiang is a professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Hefei University of Technology. He received his Ph.D. from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2009. He then worked at National University of Singapore (NUS) and South China University of Technology as research fellow (2009–2011). He was supported by Alternate Sponsored Fellowship (ASF) at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) from January 2014 to February 2015. His research interests focus on advanced materials and safety technology for lithium ion batteries, including flame-retarded electrolyte, solid-state electrolyte, inorganic separator and high energy/power density electrode materials. He has published over 90 papers in these areas, and presided ~20 scientific research projects, including 3 National Natural Science Foundation of China.
